What is the cause?
Many forms of hyperpigmentation are caused by an excess production of melanin. Excessive sun exposure can also contribute to it.

A fruit enzyme mask is a healthier alternative to chemical peels. They can be used to brighten pigmentation and reveal a new layer of skin.

EXISTING CLIENTS: Dermaplaning Facial

Dermaplaning is a form of manual exfoliation similar in theory to microdermabrasion but without the use of suction or abrasive crystals. An esthetician grade, sterile blade is stroked along the skin at an angle to gently “shave off” dead skin cells from the epidermis. Dermaplaning also temporarily removes the fine vellus hair of the face, leaving a very smooth surface. As with any type of exfoliation, the removal of dead skin cells allows home care products to be more effective, reduces the appearance of fine lines, evens skin tone and assists in reducing milia, closed and open comedones, and minor breakouts associated with congested pores. Dermaplaning can be an effective exfoliation method for clients that have couperose (tiny blood vessels near the surface of the skin), sensitive skin or allergies that prevent the use of microdermabrasion or chemical peels. Due to the contours of the face, certain areas of the face (such as the eyelids and nose) are not treatable using this method. View less

Microneedling

Microneedling is a procedure that involves small needles puncturing the skin to promote collagen production, improve skin texture and appearance. It is commonly used to treat acne scars, hyperpigmentation, and uneven skin tone.

There isn't a significant amount of time needed to recover. The range is from a few hours to a few days. Common symptoms post service are redness and swelling. You will be instructed to avoid exercise, saunas, swimming pools, and outside strenuous activity for at least 24-48 hours.

To prep for the procedure, refrain using retinoids and exfoliants 72 hours before. Avoid any anti-inflammatory medication.

This service isn't ideal if you are currently experiencing:
active acne
prone to hyperpigmentation
active skin infection like cold sores
on blood thinners
pregnant or breast feeding
skin sensitivity
